One who had acted as her wings back when she was without them for sixteen long years, but even after she regained what stolen from her, Diaval continued to serve as a medium between Maleficent and human affairs.

And she finds herself relieved by the offer, for it will allow her to maintain the certain detachment that she needs, from these human things.

She's still awkward with this, with conversing even with someone she feels more at ease around than the others; Maleficent struggles with conveying how she feels.
