The interesting thing here was the word "when". It seemed that he was committing to this definitely going places. Interestingly, there seemed to be no end in sight to the tunnel. Because of course not. The tunnel was magical, just like everything else, but not in an awful way. Was the lesson here to crash through any barriers that would normally get in the way of this kind of behavior?

But Wade wasn't thinking of any of that. Instead, he's thinking of how to shift position to go further. He enjoys her being in his neck, but now stronger urges are racing through his system as he feels her lips at his neck again. So he does shift a little until he's basically straddling her, and his gaze as he looks down into her eyes is heated.

Then he does it. The thing that will cascade into so much more, as if opening the floodgates. He peels his mask up and leans down and kisses her full on the mouth, slow and tender at first, exploring, making sure it's okay and letting her explore a little too, and then deeper if she seems to be into it.
