ii. the temple

[Thor spent most of the day mingling amongst the locals and exploring the island, leaving the Temple as the last spot on his self-guided tour. The flowers are what first draw his attention, but it doesn't take long for him to become enraptured by the strange cat-looking creatures. Soon enough, he has taken up residence in their vicinity, telling them stories of home.]

You know, we have these Cat Elves on Alfheim, and they ride these giant winged cats to get around. It's kind of weird, isn't it? To be a Cat Elf that rides a winged cat for a mount? It'd be like me riding a flying man. Or woman; women can be anything they want to be, too.

[If you don't stumble in on his somewhat awkward conversation, you can find him learning how to translate Mjolnir's Power Moves into a pathetically weak machete or perhaps shoving his face full of random food that he's mysteriously procured (cooked? stolen? who knows!)]

iii. the baths

[Thor sets out at first light after learning about the Baths the day before. He could go for a good soak, though he's surprisingly not as worse for wear as he expected.

The water is hot but inviting, a siren's call to a weary mind and body to match. As he sinks further into the water, letting it lap at his chin, he remembers watching his mother, Frigga, teach Loki her magic, knowing that he would match her in skill someday; he remembers meeting Jane for the first time, her fiery spirit enamoring him from the beginning; he feels the weight of Mjolnir in his hand again, never destroyed or taken away; he sees Valkyrie resume the mantle of the warrior she once was; and he remembers a myriad of the light-hearted pranks his brother pulled on him from the time they were small. They all float in and out of his consciousness, like fog that refuses to lift yet refuses to settle.

He finds that he can't linger in any one memory too long, wanting so much to be able to feel and relive as much as he can for as long as he can.
