He knows enough to be good at biting his tongue just until he thinks he can get away with that sort of thing. But he will undoubtedly try to get away with that sort of thing eventually.

Maybe he's just glad to meet someone capable of the same kind of skepticism he holds tight to, but hearing someone else take the piss out of this whole redemption shtick is more than enough to pique his interest.
